Launch Excel to a certain worksheet

How do I open an excel workbook to a specific worksheet whose name matches the contents of a field in FM7?

I have tried to use a hyperlink but can't get FM to pass worksheet i.e. c:/workbook.xls#sheetname

Thanks!

I don't believe you can do it that way. Excel does not have a command line option to go directly to a worksheet (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291288).

2 way of doing this that I see:

- embed a small macro in the excel file and use the startup switch to have that run. Not recommended: it will work only if the user has his security settings to low

- use VBscript to open the excel file and navigate to the correct worksheet. Come on over to the Windows automation forum if you need help on that.

Thanks!

I'll post something over there as well.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again,
