finding range of records questions

Featured Replies

I created a relationship between 2 tables as described in the Filemaker Pro help section under "About realtionships that return a range of records". One table contains employment information about Shift Supervisors and the other table contains data on overtime hours worked (for individuals & departments)

I used SearchStartSS & SearchEndSS in place of the StartingDateE & EndingDateE in the example. Both fields are date fields.

I created a report format that has a portal in it for the data from the overtime table. The intent is to have a report that can list overtime data for a range of pay periods. When I try to do a find it will not allow me to enter dates in the SearchStartSS & SearchEndSS.

I'm not sure if SearchStartSS & SearchEndSS should be global variables or not. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
