FM Server 8 Advanced with Novell

We would like to use FM Server 8 Advanced for its web publishing capabilities. However, our company runs novell networking instead of Windows AD. I couldn't find anything on FM's website and the FM pre-sales tech folks suggested I come here and post since they had no answer.

Any idea if novell can coexist with Novell?

Well it will not run on Novell. FileMaker Server 8 Advanced wants OS X Server or Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.

Now, are you asking whether NDS can handle the External Server authentication? The answer is no, unless you can find a piece of middleware that makes NDS act like Active Directory. In that case, it might be possible to authenticate via NDS.

Novell has an app that lets you synch NDS info into an AD or OD. So you could set it up that way. I forget the name of that app but a search on their website should turn it up. Not free of course.
