checkbox graphics into a container

I've been trying to follow Matt P's video on platform specific checkboxes here http://www.scriptology.com/theme-library

and have gotten snagged getting graphic elements into a 2 repetition - global container field.

I'm option-dragging and copying checkbox graphics into the container, but they never seem to "take". Can you clue me in?

Is this an "advanced" feature?

No only one graphic is used and pasted into the container in "browse"mode.
