FM7- 8 won't hold print setup

We have a specific page setup (duplex, print two pages per side) which is specified in a script. FM 7, 8 and 8.5 will not remember this setup. I have used the print setup script command and the print script command to attempt to get it to remember, but every time you launch FileMaker, it reverts to duplex one page per side. FM6 remembers this setup. Why won't 7?
