Hi,

Am new to filemaker and have found most of my questions on these great forums and at present am stuck with something so simple that I have missed it.

I have a portal that I can enter data into which is linked to a line items file, the data entered is pulled from a products table and everything in the line items file looks ok, what I would like it to do is total the prices of the products below the portal. I have created a field with the calc [sum (Lines::price] but it doesn't display. I have checked to ensure its a number etc.. am sure its simple!! HELPPPPPP pls

So in your invoices table, you have a calc that does this?

sum (Lines::price)

Are you sure that the relationship is keyed correctly? Does the key field in your LineItems table have data in it?

Yes, the line items table has data in it and is doing the addition correctly, only when i create a field that then adds up the totals for the line items file it stays blank??

I thinking of starting it all again from creating a new table, relantionship everything....

Can you either post a copy of your file, or screenshots of your calculation and relationships

Sorted it now, went back to basics and found it was a relationship problem (Choose the wrong one!!) DOH!
