Rich S
Howdy, howdy... I know that FM 8.5-generated run-time solutions don't natively support the creation of .pdfs but what's curious is that while in a run-time solution, if I manually "send" a script-generated report to Acrobat (7 or 8) in the print set-up menu, a .pdf of the report is created just fine. However, when we tried to automate the process with a script, the solution won't generate the .pdf. Yes, I'm aware there are a couple of .pdf-related plug-ins out there but their costs is prohibitive. Has anyone written a script (for a run-time solution) that'll cause the solution to look for an "external" .pdf print driver and hence, create a .pdf? At least this time I'm not alone with this brain teaser! Cheers, Rich
IdealData
Notwithstanding the many PDF generators about, the real one is Acrobat. Compare the cost of Acrobat v FMP.
Rich S
You lost me, 'Data: I use Acrobat 7 and 8 to create all of my .pdfs; I don't rely on FMP at all to generate them. My clients report having success using pdf995 (which costs a whopping $9.95) so that's what they'll probably use to generate .pdf'd reports from their FMP runtime solutions.
