klingsc1 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I am attempting to utilizes a relationship that relates a field that is a calculation (the total of two related fields). However, the relationship does not seem to work. I'm guessing it will not work because the calc is not stored, nor able to be stored. Any ideas?
mr_vodka Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 You may be able to possibly use a Calculated Result rather than a calc field. However, you may not be able to depending on your design, in which you may have to rethink your design. Why dont you post how your structure is setup.
klingsc1 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 How do I do a calcualted result vs. a calcualtion?
mr_vodka Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 In your Defining text, number, etc field, under the Auto-Enter tab, there is 'Calculated Value' make sure that 'Do not replace existing value...' is Unchecked.
klingsc1 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 I tried that - it didn't seem to update.
mr_vodka Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Whatever field that you are refrencing needs to be updated in order for the calculated value to trigger. If not then you might not be able to do it and again may have to rethink your design. Without knowing your setup, I cant comment.
