label layout problem

I have a problem with FileMaker 8.5 in label layout mode. The preset labels for Avery, Dymo labels etc are not installed. How can I get them installed? The installation disk does not seem to have seperate folders for labels which I could use for a copy and paste operation into the programme folder.

Just look up the sizes online including page margins -- "Label" layouts are nothing special, they are just columned layouts with a set body size and set header and footer size, you can put them together manually just as easily.

Hi mwalimu, I have not used Labels in FM (shock, I know, but it's just never come up). But I've configured Avery labels for many other programs. For the specific Avery label you've purchased, Avery includes a template sheet and instructions. These instructions tell you EXACTLY the size of header/footer/left & right margins, gutters and label sizes. You should be able to either 1) duplicate a 'similar' Avery label, saving it as custom. You can then more easily make changes to it so it matches the instruction sheet or 2) Create new custom label, using the instructions as your guidelines.

UPDATE: Hi Genx! You were ahead of me ... for once. ;^)
