Newbies bradvolta Posted February 7, 2007 Newbies Share Posted February 7, 2007 I have a persistent and repeatable problem. When I use the script step “ Save Records as PDF”, Filemaker crashes. When I “Save as PDF..” from Print Dialog, Filemaker completes the task without issues. Additionally, this only occurs on one user. Other users on the same computer do not experience this problem. I am sure it is some preference file, but I cannot determine which one. I have reinstalled Filemaker, which did not help. Any clues to what is causing this problem?? John Mark Osborne
Maybe the user has a corrupt font. As a test, try changing all text and fields on the layout to a different font and see if it stops crashing. If it does, you can reinstall the font and switch the layout back to the font you want. Newbies bradvolta Posted February 8, 2007 Author Newbies Share Posted February 8, 2007 Tried changing fonts. Still crashes. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think it is font related because it still prints fine and it will save as pdf from the print dialog (PDF button).
John Mark Osborne
I would also make sure the person is running the same version of FileMaker. For example, make sure everyone is running 8.0v3. I still think it might be a system issue. Try reinstalling the system software. BTW, does this user have any problems creating a PDF of a different layout? Let's make sure it is not layout specific. Newbies bradvolta Posted February 9, 2007 Author Newbies Share Posted February 9, 2007 All users are using same version. Problem occurs on multiple layouts. I have transfer user account to different computer and the problem followed. Problem is Filemaker/User specific.
