Portal - constrain found set through a script?

Featured Replies

Hi

I having trouble constraining portal. I have field which I have yes/no and I wont the portal to just show the list of related yes

Does any one have some ideas here? I set up scripts before to sort and filer layouts with tables but not with portal

Cheers Damian

Add a calculation on the parent side to equal: "yes" (result text) and then relate that to your yes / no field on the child side.

Mmm, you got lost me a bit, I am not very good with tech terms i.e parent side etc

What I doing I have one layout I input all my data and then I script to see it in different layout (for print) in which I have the portal and data from other tables which I am wanting to filter

how do the process you explain above...... is possible you up load some screen shots

Cheers

... Your report should really probably be based on the table where your "yes/no" records are... but if you are determined to do it this way..

In the table that your layout is based on, add the calculation that has the result: "yes"

Then, simply relate that to the Table Occurance that your Portal is based (just drag from the "yes" calculation field to the yes/no field)
