Database Designs Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I have a solution that I created in my Windows platform. If I create a runtime version can it be run on a Macintosh? If not, can a macintosh run my files?
mr_vodka Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 You will have to bind a seperate runtime version for each platform, but you can use the same FM source files.
Genx Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Just to clear up, to Bind the runtime for mac, you will need to get a mac and install a copy of fm advanced on it -- and create the runtime from there.
Database Designs Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 That makes sense. But....if FileMaker is loaded on the Mac, can they run my files without using a runtime version?
mr_vodka Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Yes. You can run the FM files on on both platforms without runtime. However, you may need to compensate part of your code for it. For example if you are using paths etc in any of your scripts/calcs they will be different on a mac vs a PC...
Database Designs Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 What do you mean by "paths"?
