Sub-Summaries keep inserting page breaks before each occurrence.

Featured Replies

I have a task-list printout using Sub-Summaries by Status. Each occurrence of the sub-summary part starts on a new page. For instance, first I'll have the Status: Complete sub-summary, followed by its records, then a new page, then the Status: Waiting sub-summary, followed by its records.

The only thing checked in the Sub-Summary dialog is "allow part to break across page boundaries."

The layout setup is specified as View: List only.

It's been a while since I've used printouts with sub-summaries (i.e. FM6). Is this just how it is or am I missing something?

Thanks for any suggestions.

anyone out there?

I dont think that it should be page breaking like that if your setup is as you posted. Do you have a copy of the file that you can post?

Thanks for replying.

I did a little tinkering, and I found that the problem occurs when the sliding objects and/or enclosing part exceed a certain height. Note in the attached file that at the current height of both the company and name fields and the Body, the unwanted breaks occur. If you shorten the fields and the part, the breaks go away.

For now I will just shorten the part and hope my client doesn't have any long-winded callers.

You have to turn on sliding for the items in your subsummary parts as well.

That did it! That makes no sense to me whatsoever, but who am I to complain.

Thanks John!
