actionman007 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hi, I have been approached to build a database for a small library operation, that journals can be borrowed from etc. The client has asked for it to be accessible from the web (outside our intranet), what Filemaker software do I need to get to do this - I was thinking Filemaker 8.5 Advanced to do the development in, and then Advanced Server to roll it out on... do I need a special computer to run it off - or can it run on a web server? Cheers, Dan :(
Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Please take a look at the various Tech Briefs related to Server and Security on the FMI Web site: http://www.filemaker.com/support/upgrade/techbriefs.html as well as the on-line documentation for web publishing. And yes, FileMaker Server 8 advanced is the software you'll want. You're probably going to want to have a separate database server. Steven
