Capture "distance" from Yahoo/Google maps

Does anyone know of a way to capture "distance" between two points from yahoo/google maps and input in a FM database?

I'm trying to create a script that runs multiple addresses and then returns the distance between points.

Hi!

Afraid I can't help but that is excactly what I am trying to do for my application too.

I'm using the Haversine formula to do this which might be of interest? It does work fine for "as-the-crow-flies" distances but these tend to have to be triangulated using a bit of Pythagorus to get a "drive-along-roads" distance (typically 140% longer, give or take).

Anyway, I'm almost there with my applcation but can't quite figure how to make the data array build up on the fly.

My post (if you're interested) is at http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/185364/post/244166/

Perhaps we could agree to keep in touch if either of us comes up with a solution for this type of application of FM?

Thanks,

Paul

I will be looking to do the same thing. He's something that may help you.

I guy in our filemaker group made a solution to verify addresses before spending money to mail them out. He had the database looking at the actual html in the web field to get the actual mailing address. Maybe this is something you can think about.
