We create report cards for over 131,000 children, 8 times a year in 16th largest public school system in America, all in FileMaker. We are exploring ways to reduce paper creation and are interested in e-mailing report cards to parents who would subscribe to this service. Of course we will be automating this process. I have been looking at FileMaker 8.5 and its ability to create PDF’s and am trying to see how we might automate this step and “name” each PDF created with a meaningful name. I would like to pick up the name for the PDF file from a field in the FileMaker solution. I cannot seem to discover how I can specify the file name in the scripting environment. If this is not possible with FileMaker does anyone know of a plug-in that would facilitate this? Thanks.
