February 24, 200718 yr Job Title: Database/Network Assistant Organization: WestCoast Children’s Clinic Location: Oakland, CA 94601 Salary: $37,000 to $42,000 FTE DOE + medical/dental/PTO benefits, Half-time Program Description: WestCoast Children’s Clinic is an established nonprofit community-based mental health clinic, specialized in providing services to vulnerable children, youth and their families in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, regardless of their ability to pay. We are particularly committed to helping children in the social services and foster care systems, and work with a culturally diverse population. Position Description: The Database/Network Assistant will work closely with the IT Director to help with development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a complex FileMaker Pro database used by the agency for clinical documentation, client tracking, billing, and management reporting. S/he will also provide direct technical support to clinic staff. Duties Include: • Database layout design under supervision of IT Director. • Database scripting and relational design as appropriate to level of ability and experience, under supervision of IT Director. • Assist with a process analysis of existing database by gathering and analyzing feedback from staff. • Troubleshoot database problems based on staff bug reports. • Provide direct staff database support and training in person and via phone and email. • As time permits, assist Network Manager with computer maintenance and help desk tasks. Position Qualifications: • College graduate or equivalent work experience • Commitment to the clinic’s mission and population • High level of computer proficiency and good comfort level with technology overall • Either direct experience with FileMaker Pro/comparable database, or else proficiency in Excel and layout design is required • Familiarity with both Macintosh and Windows preferred • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to think analytically and troubleshoot • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively • Patience and excellent communication skills, particularly with non-computer proficient individuals • Nonprofit experience a plus How to Apply: Resume/cover letter to: [email protected]
