Look up Fields not displaying

I have gone over this and over this, following every step (which doesn't seem complicated) and I can't get the look up Auto entry to work at all. It worked yesterday, but not today. I'm sure with my monkeying around with the layout I might have inadvertently changed something, but I can't find where I screwed up? I am a beginner and would love somehelp other than the manual. Thanks in advance.

Hi jan,

Welcome to the forums.

Check your relationships and Table occurences. If you still cant find the issue, post a copy of your relationships graph here.

Thanks for your response it was a incorrect table listed in the field control set up. So now I can perform a look up, issue #1: The look up field wont work in a portal?

Issue #2: And If I select 'drop down menu' intead of 'pop up' then I only get one of the two fields identified--on pop up setting it shows color code and color name, on drop down it only shows color code (no Color Name)?.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

A portal is used to show related records. If the field is not a related field of the relationship that the portal is using or fields from related table occurences to the portal's relationship, it may not work.

If you are displaying two field values using a drop down, once selected, the field will display only the first field value. To display the second field, put the second related field directly next to the drop down.
