Newbies 3Technology Posted March 2, 2007 Newbies Posted March 2, 2007 In my application i need to view some xyz.pdf from a lan folder, I have created a calculated field to take to Webviewer like this: file://Macintosh HD/Volumes/192.168.0.2/xyz.pdf ,it works fine with Acrobat Reader 5.0, if I use Acrobat 8.0, the web viewer shows only a acrobat icon. [color:red]...Why???
Newbies 3Technology Posted March 5, 2007 Author Newbies Posted March 5, 2007 The problem is not the path, if I use acrobat reder 5.5 I can view the xyz.pdf file, if I install acrobar reader 8.0 the WebViewer only shows a acrobat icon and not the document. I need something else to install??
Kane Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I think that the previous poster was pointing out that you were missing a slash in your string. AFAIK, you need 3 backslashes, not 2, in a properly formed 'file:///' URL . It could just be that for whatever reason, your old browser accepted it anyhow. Don't forget that the webviewer used is actually just based on IE if you're on a PC, and on Safari if you're on a Mac.
Newbies 3Technology Posted March 17, 2007 Author Newbies Posted March 17, 2007 If I write in Safari file:///prova.pdf, I can see the document, if I write the same line in the webviewer, i see only the acrobat icon.
