Newbies Rick_1 Posted March 12, 2007 Newbies Posted March 12, 2007 Hi, I am new to the forum here and I have a quick question. I just installed filemaker onto server 8. Every time I click to form view from list view (or vice-versa) I get a warning saying "Do you wish to save this change with the layout?" I do have "Save record changes automatically" check on - which I though would take care of it. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks!
mr_vodka Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi Rick, Welcome to the forums. Do you mean that under the layout preferences, you changed it to 'Save Layout Changes Automatically' ?
tgilders Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi Rick, If you use a script to change the views, the message doesn't appear, and the change is not saved. (If it's saved, then it's changed on ALL users screens in a multi-user environment). If you have 8 or 8.5 advanced, you can modifiy the menus so you don't have to have a button on the layout to make the view change. They can continue to use the "View" menu.
Newbies Rick_1 Posted March 12, 2007 Author Newbies Posted March 12, 2007 Thank you both. The script change worked great and the error message did not appear.
