Setting a Cookie in a link

Featured Replies

I'm trying to set a cookie within a Link. I used the code:

<a href="http://userip/test/FMPro?-DB=database.fp3&-Format=format.htm&-Token=[FMP-Field: tokenfield]&-RecID=[FMP-CurrentRecID]&user_ip=[FMP-ClientIP]&-SetCookie:usercode=[FMP-Field: cookie field]&-Edit">Go to next page</a>

and it takes me to the next page. On the next page I have a link set, which uses the cookie. The link looks like this:

<a href="http://userip/test/FMPro?-DB=database2.fp3&-Format=format2.htm&user_field=[FMP-Cookie: usercode]&-Find">Next Link</a>

But it is giving me an error. When I view the source it appears that in setting the cookie, it not only took the value from the cookie field, but also all the text after it (the &-Edit and so on), and it also put some HTML coding in it..so the link on the format.htm page translates to this:

<a href="http://userip/test/FMPro?-DB=database2.fp3&-Format=format3.htm&user_field=jaimy73042939188

-Edit HTTP/1.1&-Find">Next Link</a>

I don't understand why this is happening, but really need to fix it. Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Just a qiock suggestion: try using the http-code equivilents for the colon character in the -SetCookie part of the url. That might allow Web Companion to parse the string better.
