Newbies National Disability Arts Forum Posted March 23, 2007 Newbies Posted March 23, 2007 Hi, I'm new to Filemaker (running v.7, OS X Tiger), and I want to export some records into a tab separated file. I can do this via export records, but I only need about half of the fields, and I'm going to have to do it frequently. Is there any way to avoid manually selecting each field from the export records screen? I tried to create a new layout that only showed the required fields, but when exporting from it, I still need to select fields from the entire table. Does this make any sense? Thanks!
Lee Smith Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 (edited) Hi, and welcome to the Forum. If you have Perform the export as you want it before using the manual export again, you can create a script using script step export and the fields should be what you want. In any even, you can select the fields you want to export within the Script step [color:blue]Export. You can then either select the script to run from under Script, or attaching it to a button on the layout. HTH Lee Edited March 23, 2007 by Guest
