"Pixel Bounce" in List View

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm using FMP 8.5 Advanced.

Simple question:

When I have a multiple layouts with the same perfectly-aligned menu buttons, etc. at the top, and I switch among them in "Browse" mode, the transitions between layouts are completely smooth. There is no "bounce" of objects left-right or up-down.

However, when I use the same perfectly-aligned menu buttons (and entire layout for that matter) in a layout that is set to List View only, when I nav to that layout, a vertical white line perhaps 3 to 5 pixels wide appears, from the very top to the very bottom of the layout.

This is annoying as it causes the entire layout to "bounce" right by 3 to 5 pixels. I need to use List View for the layout; is there any way to avoid or work around the vertical white band that appears at the left side?

Thank you.

Hi

no way to get rid of that white line...

it is the space needed to place the black sign near the current record.

in all your form views shift everything 3 pixels to the right.

and reduce the width of your list layouts by 3 pixels

if your window objects in form view is 800 px wide then in your list view

everything should be 787 px wide.

This has been a technique for years - since I can remember to avoid the pixel dance.
