jfrick Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 I've created a new look for our IS database which has 3 portals looking into 3 related files: Hardware, Software, Work Orders. If a user uses the portal scroll bar it locks the portal and the other users get the "This record is currently being modified by ..." message. A way to prevent the portal locking is by limiting the access rights to read only but then the record can't be modified. Has anyone found a way around this?
dspires Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 I have been able to work around this problem by creating a different parent record (containing the portals) for each user. You will still encounter the error message if two users have a portal displaying the same first row record and user one is scrolling that portal. In that case if user two clicks in a row other than the first row, the portal can be scrolled.
