Whenever I import from excel, filemaker will take all the blank spaces at the end of my excel sheet and create a ton of blank records - what can I do to keep this from happening?

Create a named range which only includes the cells you wish to import. Then when importing FM will ask you if you want to import the workbook or the named range. Choose the named range and it will solve the problem.

Insert>Name>Define on the menu bar.
