Todd Geist Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Windows 2003, FM server 8.0v4. I have run into this issue several times now and I can't figure it out. Here are the symptoms. FileMaker Server begins to run very slowly and then begins to freeze on new record creation. I close the files on the server and then quit the server. I try to open the File in FileMaker Pro, Windows reports that the file can't be opened because it already opened by some other application. YIKES! This is a problem. I have verified that the neither the Backup app nor the AntiVirus are touching the Live Data folder. I don't know what is opening the file or how to find out what it is. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Todd
Vaughan Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Check that the host computer has sufficient free space on the hard disk for FM Server cache temp files.
Orlando Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Hi Todd I have experienced the same problem; I have not yet figured out the cause but found that restarting the server frees up the files. I have also found that when this happens to some of our larger files they can end up damaged. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the issue. Orlando
