this seems like it should be obvious, but i'm not seeing it!

i have a layout in list format.

i want to add a set of values in the list, for a given parent record.

is there any way to have a new record created automatically when i tab out of the last field in the view??

i've added a button to the header to create a new record, but i'd rather have it happen automatically, so the user can just tab through a long list....

Instead of a list layout, use a portal with a relationship set to allow creation of related records. There will always be a blank row at the bottom.

ah ha!! so that's what that portal thing is about!! i've been wondering.
