sharabi Posted April 3, 2007 Share Posted April 3, 2007 i have filemaker 8 on one computer,networked to 8.5 on another one, It has been working like charm for long time on my EMR in the clinic, now there is a problem, when you are typing inside a field and you hit enter to start a new line it prompts you to save the file and exit the whole think, that happens on both computers, if you restart the main computer it works fine for a while then that behavior happens again, any ideas? Ender Posted April 3, 2007 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Can you give more detail on how the machines are networked? Are you using FileMaker's built-in Sharing or OS File Sharing? Can you clarify: are you hitting "Enter" to exit the field, or "Return" to add a new line to a text field? Are your FileMaker Pro applications updated to the latest rev? sharabi Posted April 4, 2007 Author Share Posted April 4, 2007 when you hit enter to start a new line within the field. both are up to date. networked through filemaker and not OS. now it is starting a new line within the field if you hit shift, enter simultaneously. and still if you hit enter only to start a new line within the field it prompts you to exit and save.
