Jarvis Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I am having a problem getting client stations to update (refresh) data automatically. If I produce a new record on Client Station 2 it does not automatically update the screen on Client station 1. If I toggle the screen on Client 1 the changes made on Client 2 become visible but nothing happens automatically. [color:red]Is there some way to automatically update all client station screens upon making changes on an individual client in the same network? I have a three computers on this network. One of the computers is a dedicated server running Server 7. One of the client computers is a G5 running FM8.0v1 One of the client computers is a G4 running FM8.5 Advanced Station 1 is a dedicated server on a G5 Imac, running Server 7 Filesharing is disabled on this computer. Client Station 2 is a G4 tower running FM8.5 Advanced Client Station 3 is a G5 Imac running FM8.0 v1
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Well, first update all clients to the current version, either 8.0v3or 8.5v2 (Windows) or 8.5v1 (Mac) Additionally, you must commit the record created on the client before it will propagate. It does not, in fact, exist as a record or as a change until you do so. Steven
Jarvis Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Thank you Steven. I will first make sure I have a commit records statement at the end of all scripts and then I will upgrade the client stations to current, compatible versions. Would it be beneficial to upgrade Server 7 to Server 8 as well? Jarvis
j.langford Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 How would you auto refresh a client iwp browser?
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Attaching a Commit Records step to a button will refresh the values. Steven
