I have made a database with a portal within a portal. It seems to work just fine. I was surprised because I seem to remember warnings against trying to do this in earlier versions (I'm on 8.5).

Is this technique now possible?

Are there any warnings or caveats that I should be aware of. Thanks in advance. JJ

Never mind. It only works in the first row of the portal. Sorry if I got anyone excited.

I don't know of any change in this aspect in 8.5. Seems it depends on what you mean by "work just fine". Can you attach a demo file?

You can't do a portal in a portal, but you can often get the info you need to see by using a ValueListItems calc field.

Hey every1,

im also stuck on wanting to pull more data thru to a main layout than what appears to b allowed.

Can you elaborate on this "ValueListItems" option or outline any other methods to allow data to update on a 'front' table from 2+ tables behind?
