I have a script that calls another one in a different table. Everything seems to work except the copy of field content prior to going to the next script. Nothing is being copied and I'm not sure why is doesn't.

Weren't it better to have the two tables related, and the value can be seen instead of copying at all, copy and paste for internal matters have only a slight relevance when IWP'in otherwise not!

Probably but table 2 is a Preference file for all of my tables and I'm not sure what field I would relate it with.

You have had cartesian relations availiable ever since the arrival of fm7, and before that, were either constant or illegal relations with global keys in both ends, despite the warnings.

Ever since 1995 when fm3 arrived, have your desire been a bygone - I'm afraid. Read up upon the cartesian type relation.
