Duplicating records!

Hi all, I have a basic question ut Im struggling to find an answer. I want to duplicate a record for data entry speed but I want to make sure certain fields are left blank i.e. I have a ticketing system linked to financial system, I want to duplicate an old ticket for a new similar job but dont want to duplicate its billed status - defined by an invoiced checkbox? in otherwords all the details are identical except this checkbox is defaulted to unticked.

If you script the duplication process you will be able to set any relevant fields in the duplicated record to your desired values.
