Orlando Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Hi We are looking at the posibility of increasing our number of users to above and beyond 250 and was wondering if this means the end of FileMaker in our company? Has anyone else reached this limit and how have you got around it. Thanks for your help Orlando
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 You can use multiple servers. You can also add up to 100 Instant Web Publishing users. IWP provides a remarkable level of fidelity with what you see in the FileMaker Pro client. There are some things it cannot do; but there a lot of things IWP can do. Have you talked to your FileMaker Sales Rep about this? The Rep can involve the System Engineer for your territory to assist you further. Steven
Orlando Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 Hi Steven Thanks for your reply. I am not up to speed with server at the moment, have done some work in IWP and that is one of our options. Can having multiple servers split the load of the users to a single file? So if we have two or more servers could up to 400 people access out Contacts database? I am going to get on to FileMaker also. Thanks again for your help. Orlando
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 For multiple servers you run the same files on each. They then must be synchronized using SyncDeK from WorldSync. http://worldsync.com Steven
