Leather Knight Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Ok, I have been trying to do this for about a year, and no success. I have a database I sell online. I need to be able to update the database with new features, scripts and so on without the end user losing their info already entered. I do not understand how to do the "separation" of data from the main database so when I send them a file, it will update without overwritting their info. Any advice?? Thanks
K1200 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The separation model is easy -- sort of. First you'll have to do some homework. Start with the topics in The Separation Model under Brain Food on this forum. Then search using the word "separation". As you'll see, there's quite a bit of information/opinions available. Then it's best to ask specific questions. Here's a good overview to start with: Link to topic
Leather Knight Posted June 9, 2007 Author Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks, I have been trying the separation model formula, and it seems to work well, just not quite what I needed. I will have to go to VB in roder to do what I need I guess. But thanks.
