Hiding Default Button

Featured Replies

I've figured out how to hide the status bar and the tool bars but I can't figure out how to hide or deactivate the tool bar at the bottom of the window. Particularly the button that lets you switch between Find Mode, Preview Mode, Etc. (directly adjacent to the zoom buttons)

I know this seems like a small thing but some of the people I work with can destroy a database by walking by a computer while looking at it!

Thanks,

Mel

Access to Layout mode is de-activated through accounts and privileges.

The only way to disable the find and preview mode buttons is with Custom menus (by de-activating the default Find and Preview menu commands) but doing so will require you to build alternative methods of accessing these features. The icons will still be visible, but they won't be active.

I usually remove the Preview mode but leave Find and Browse. I use a custom menu so that changing to Find mode also changes to a "find" layout that's a different colour, that way users know what's happening.
