I'm locked out of my own database!!!

This is insane! Suddenly today I'm unable to open my large and indespensible database! It asks for an Account Name and a password. I'm scared now that my other databases will become locked.

I even tried to open it with a previous FMP (6) and it said it was now in FMP 7 & I have to open it in that!

This is generally a good thing.

Your surprise at this indicates that you're used to having it login automatically. This is controlled in each file's File Options. But in any case, every FM7/8 file has a default account created for it. For files created in FM7/8, it would be "Admin" with a blank password. For converted files, existing passwords would have been converted to accounts with the same password (case sensitive).
