I am attempting to click the button "Start all Filemaker Server processes" by oppening the Server Admin program, clicking the "Server" menu followed by "local filemaker server administration".

When the Start button is pressed it indicates that the server is running (or attempting to run) but after 5 seconds in stops.

Has anyone seen this before ??...It seems that I have downloaded almost every available pdf from the Filemaker website and am still being driven insane !!

Check the server error log thingy.

When this happens to me it's usually a license conflict: another copy of FMS with the same license number is already running on the network.

It also conflicts if a previous FMS is running on the same machine, regardless of the license number.

Just upgraded?

Hi, I had similar problems when running FMSA 7 under OSX. Upgrading from 10.2 to 10.3 at the time fixed it all up. This may be completely unrelated, but might help?

What version of OSX are you on?
