Newbie Help with CDML find request

Hi Im new to CDML and I have a project where Im creating format files using CDML.

I have my "results" page and "details" page working fine but I want to create a simple text link that does a search on a specific field and then goes to my "results" listview format file.

Say I have a text link that says "Drills" I want that link to do a -find on my FM field "Machine_Type" and find "Drills" and then show it in the "results" format file I made.

Thanks I hope this makes sense.
