Turborekker Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Hi, I am in the process of setting up IWP and am logged into the Admin Console. I am busy trying to register the Publishing Engine (PE) however it tells me "The PE is not responding. If the PE has not yet been configured, click here to continue." I try clicking the link but it does not respond. Actually no buttons I click on this page in the Admin console respond. The top block on this page is in blue (Web Server), indicating it is set up successfully, the second block is in red/pink with the above error. I can't even restart the PE, even though the services are running. I have tried restarting the services and the server. I have IIS running fine. I have already uninstalled everything and started from scratch. This is starting to make me : Thanks Shaun
Steven H. Blackwell Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Carefully review the information in the Server Admin Guide and the Web Publishing Install Guide. Be sure that you actually have Serevr Advanced Installed. The sumamry page in the SAT ool will confirm this. Be sure that either IIS or Apache is running on the respective correct platform (Windows or Macintosh). Also check the Identifier and Passcode in the SAT Tool. What you enter in the WPE Console must match them exactly. Steven
Turborekker Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks for your help Steven. I found the problem, in IIS I had an IP address inserted where it should have been "All Unassigned."
Steven H. Blackwell Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 OK, glad you solved the probolem. Configuration of IIS is an overlooked item in many deployments. I believe I will invite FMI's attention to this class of items in the hope that some definitive recommendation might be forthcoming. Steven
