Related Lookup (or something)

Featured Replies

What I need is to be able to enter two fields from dropdown lists, and have the third field fill in automatically.

The closest I can come to a solution is via lookup. But it doesn't. :

I suspect relationship trouble. What am I doing wrongly?

All replies humbly appreciated!

It can't look up the ItemID when the ItemID is included in the relationship. I don't quite follow the logic of what you are doing ... but try removing the ItemID from the relationship. It then looks up the ItemID correctly.

It sure does, LaRetta!

Quick solution, and an important lesson learned.

Thanks so much!

Oh, and the logic: The object is for a user who is managing translation assignments to be able to select two parameters (segment and language) and have the ItemID fill in automatically. The actual table tracks a few more things of course, including translator, date assigned, date due, date actually finished, etc.

Added response to implied question about logic.
