Font size increases when printing

I have a layout which looks ok in preview mode, but when printed, the font size has increased by about 50% and as a result the report does not fit on the page. Font used is verdana 10 point plain. Printer is a HP laser jet.

Ideas anyone ?

Check the "scale" in the page/print setup options, it might be set to more than 100%.
