Hi:

First time post. Just upgraded from FM 5 to FM 8.5. Bit of a learning curve, but not too bad, struggling with this though:

I've attached a jpg labeled "my_problem.jpg" for reference. "Evaluate this calculation from the context of: ."

Clicking on the drop down reveals an empty (blank) list - no tables are available. This file, named Media, was created in FM5 and converted to FM8 along with 2 other databases named Client List and Master Media List. See the screenshot of relationships.

All my calculations in Media are showing "from , = Count (etc..)", Although unfamiliar with tables, I'm pretty sure I should be able to see the media table in that dropdown and have the calculation evaluated from the point of view of itself.

Have I stated my problem clearly and is there a solution, or is this actually correct behavior in FM 8.5? The "unknown" looks wrong, even though the calculations seem to be all working just fine. Thanks!

The table that the calculation was originally pointed at has been deleted.

You need to fix up all of the calculations and make sure the context is specified, otherwise you'll end up with some weird behaviour that will be difficult to track down.

I don't recall deleting any tables, but as a newbie 8.5 user, I suppose I may have.

All the tables and relationships appear intact to me, precisely how do I go about repointing the calculation to a missing table, which I can see in the relationships window, but is not in the drop down for context? I'm very confused!

I do have a back-up, but there are some hours of work in between that I'd rather not have to recreate if I can salvage what I've got. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ahh, I found it!

I renamed the table in the relationship by adding the word table at the end to distinguish it from the name of the file itself - which was the same. (Is that normal to have to do during a conversion from 5 to 8.5?)

That immediately listed "Media Table" in the offending empty "Evaluate from this Context" drop down in the calculation window and problem is solved.
