anna f Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Has anyone ever been able to get the Server Admin Tool to show clients by FM account name instead of computer name? I know one can have a different account name for each file hosted but we go through Terminal Services which, of course, shows everyone as coming from the same computer name (and same IP, etc.). It is a big pain not knowing who is who. Any suggestions? Thnx.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 This much requested feature is not supported by FileMaker Server 8. Perhaps one day it will be. Steven
Sir Boaregard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Unfortunately for Server 7 & 8 that is not an available feature, however In Server 9 when you are viewing clients in Server Admin it shows you: User Name (FileMaker), the type of connection (either FileMaker application, or web), the IP Address, how many databases that client has open, the connection time, and their client version.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I said on July 9th: This much requested feature is not supported by FileMaker Server 8. Perhaps one day it will be. And, lo and behold, on July 10th it arrived. In the Admin Consloe it will give you the Account Name, the Privilege Set, and other useful information. Steven
