July 11, 200718 yr Hey all, We have an orders db that handles all information on an order. There are layouts for the printouts such as production and shipping which has the shipping address and the line items. Due to changes in procedures, we now have a portal of special shipping instructions for special customers. This is a table related to the company of a contact. What is the best practice for displaying a portal of shipping instructions on a printout? I have limited space to work with, not sure what way is best to ensure that most or all notes are printed to ensure our shipping guys don't forget?
July 12, 200718 yr Best practice is to print from the related table using a list view. Data from the parent tables is put into leading and trailing grand summary parts. The trick is often setting up the data structure in the first place to make this happen.
July 12, 200718 yr Author we already have the main table being printed in list view, how can i print two list views?
July 12, 200718 yr Print from the related table, so what would have been portal rows is now the list view. Sub-summary parts are used to allow the grouping and printing of multiple invoices. But only one table can be printed this way, so a lot depends on how well the data structure was planned. It may be that the ability to append to pdfs in FMP 9 is a solution.
