Lovely Portal, Crappy Relationship!

Featured Replies

Thanks in Advance to all you Filemaker Gurus! This is a film rights db. I have an awesome portal setup with Territory & Film Type. WORKS GREAT!

I need the Title field in Titles to be related to the Title field in avils, and Title:film_type needs to be the category filter instead of Avails::film_type..I can't make the relationship work and I've tried it every way!

I hope someone can help me! Enjoy the lovely portal!

Looks good, But I found a problem with the Fiml_type (category) filter. For example, I changed the Titles::Film_type (browse mode) on the record for Pearl Jam to "documentary" and it didn't change in the portal. Check it out!

Once again, thanks for all your help!

Thanks so much! This is getting close to the point where we have a cigar!

It seems that the merge field <> that"s on top of g_territory does not change, stays on current record making it appear as if the portal is displaying the same territory.

Also, when you type in Territory_id in avails shouldn't the territory autmatically populate. And should I be creating a new territory from Avails, when there is not one. Also, when you put a name in avails::title it creates a new record in title every time. There is 1 title to many avails...

The way it was set up before, I had the territory sort of hardwired and there was only 1 record. It is not imperative to keep track of territories.

Once again, thanks so much for your help!

It seems that the merge field <> ; that"s on top of g_territory does not change, stays on current record making it appear as if the portal is displaying the same territory.

That's an omission on my behalf, I have made a relation for it - make the mergefield show that instead.

I can easily fix these 3-4 matters, can you??

Sorry for keeping you in suspence, a holiday made me loose focus, and I admittedly forgot everything about it.

But anyways take a look at the changes I've made, is this what you had in mind? Or are there more open issues??
