Newbies stewwy Posted July 16, 2007 Newbies Posted July 16, 2007 Hello, I am very new to Filemaker. I used it for a long time, but this past week I have been developing a database for our business. Anyways, I have a timestamp, it is in our "notes" field. The purpose of this is that people call back, and we need to document the call, etc.. different people accept different calls. I learned today that the time stamp workds great the first time, but then when someone in the same day tries to enter a 2nd one, it erases the first one??? Anyone have any answers on that? Thanks so much in advance.
The Shadow Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 You need to give more information about your setup, how you're setting the timestamp into the field, etc.
Vaughan Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 You need multiple notes. Resist the temptation to create multiple Notes fields, instead create a Notes table and relate it to the main table.
Lee Smith Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Hi stewwy, and welcome to the forum. This topic comes up from time to time. If you were to do a search for Notes and Timestamp, you would probably find most of them. However, a quicker way would be to go to Database Pros web site, Resource, and then do a search for Notes. There are several to pick from, just be sure you select a v7 file when you find one you like. www.databasepros.com HTH Lee
