am I not thinking straight?

I have a table with customers [cust] and a table with salesmen [salesm]. Each customer is has a salesmen assigned. The two tables are related by an "=" relationship for salesmanID. So far so good... I only have 10 salesmen and I have plenty of space on my screen, so I thought i have a portal in the corner showing the other 9 (unrelated) salesmen w/ their phone number. So I created a new relation between [cust] and [salesm2] this time NOT, or unequal (the crossed out equal sign in FM) salesmanID - now, should that not show me all the unrelated salesmen in that portal? What I get is the related salesman 9 times.....

Did you cut and paste from the other portal? Sounds like the fields in the new portal are based on the old table occurence.

no, i did not, but I have since deleted the whole thing and started from scratch and now it is working - so I guess I made a mistake somewhere.
