vi Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 am I not thinking straight? I have a table with customers [cust] and a table with salesmen [salesm]. Each customer is has a salesmen assigned. The two tables are related by an "=" relationship for salesmanID. So far so good... I only have 10 salesmen and I have plenty of space on my screen, so I thought i have a portal in the corner showing the other 9 (unrelated) salesmen w/ their phone number. So I created a new relation between [cust] and [salesm2] this time NOT, or unequal (the crossed out equal sign in FM) salesmanID - now, should that not show me all the unrelated salesmen in that portal? What I get is the related salesman 9 times.....
David Jondreau Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Did you cut and paste from the other portal? Sounds like the fields in the new portal are based on the old table occurence.
vi Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 no, i did not, but I have since deleted the whole thing and started from scratch and now it is working - so I guess I made a mistake somewhere. Thanks, it was probably something along those lines......
