Newbies janicetanzania Posted August 20, 2007 Newbies Posted August 20, 2007 I'm working in FM 8.5 on Windows XP. I have a Contact table with contactID, first name, last name, title, company, etc. I need to track multiple people from the same company and I want the address of a company to auto enter if it is already in the database. If I create a Company table and activate "create records" in the relationship, it is creating a separate company record every time I enter a contact even if the company is already in the Company table. Any suggestions?
Vaughan Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Do it the other way around: enter Contacts from the Companies table. Put a portal on the Companies layout that displays the contacts, and allow creation of records from this portal. Locate the Company record (create a new one if needed) then enter the new contact details into the blank portal row.
