Hi guys, excuse me if this is very easy to answer but I am new to the Filemaker program.

I have set up a number of tables and within the database have set up also some Value Lists, for example we need to add the date when a client was sent an information pack so I have added the following fields - client day / client month and client year. I have set the attributes accordingly as Number / Text and Date. Following this I thought it would save on time to simply have a drop down option when adding, so created a value list with the dates 1 - 31 in it.

The problem I have is that when I go to add a new record it requires text input from the user rather than the use of a mouse and selecting a value from a drop down list - can someoone show me where I am going wrong??!

Why 3 fields? Be easier to make one date field and format it as a drop down calendar. You can set a field to be a drop down calendar or a drop down list in layout mode.

Format>Field/Control>Setup look at the options under "Display As"
