Wierd FM Server 9 issue

Featured Replies

I am very very [color:green]green at this but: I am using FM server 9, it was working great, users were able to see and modify files remotely, blah blah blah. Then, I needed to open the admin console, but could NOT remember the password. So I uninstalled, then reinstalled FM server 9 to create a new password (my last resort).

Now, I can't modify any files remotely and there isn't any fmsadmin group listed to redefine. I can, however modify files on the server--I also have fm 9 client installed there. I'm using os x server too, is the problem in my os x or in my fm 9 server??

Also, the upload assistant says "cannot create folder volumes/...(etc). HELP!

One of my clients is also having a password problem. Is there something about Server 9.0 that might cause login problems? (The IT guy is ready to tear his hair out!)

From what I've read, a lot of problems seem to be resolved by re-booting the computer between un-installing and re-installing the software. It seems to be a step that people often skip.

Chances are that you didn't correctly remove the old installation before doing the re-install. Also, have you checked the OS level permissons on the files?

Vaughan is correct with his advice about reboots as well.
